A need we wanted to cover was the tracking of a client when:
• he/she is in an unknown to him/her location
• he/she is in an area with little or no markings (i.e. Aspropyrgos)
• he/she is in an uncharted zone without street names to help
• he/she is in a large road, making nearly impossible to specify the correct location (i.e. Interstate, Freeway, province road, etc.)
Given that we now have access to portable smart devices, such as mobiles and tablets, we have implemented a method for any user to share his/her location with us, simply by clicking a button in our website. This fact grands us many advantages, such as:
• Easy and quickly track of the vehicle, so as to assess the situation and decide the fastest course of action.
• Faster arrival at the vehicle’s location, since the pinpoint is immediately shown and there is no need for manual input.
• Minimizing the error factor (such as an old road sign or misinformation due to the clients’ lack of knowledge).
• There is no longer a need for the client to leave his/her vehicle unattended to find road names-signs, landmarks or traits, or even approach strangers, which can prove even dangerous sometimes, to describe the location he/she is.
• Further phone calls are avoided, and money and time are saved.
